The verdict is in: The Mansion at Judges' Hill has been found guilty—of unrivaled Southern charm. The refined boutique hotel, erected in 1900, offers a posh change of pace from its laid-back Austin surroundings. Warm red and gold textiles, granite-topped writing desks and plush beds outfitted with Egyptian cotton linens give the Mansion’s guest rooms a distinctly regal feel, though visitors are also encouraged not to rule out the charming courtyard and covered veranda. In contrast, those who missed out on SXSW can enjoy the sweet sounds of up-and-comers rocking out at the live music venues on Sixth Street, and art fans won't object to taking in an exhibit at one of the city’s many galleries or museums. If you prefer a little Southern comfort in the form of good food, ladies and gentlemen of the TripAdvisor jury agree that the menu at Judges’ Hill Restaurant & Bar is criminally delicious. Also not to be overruled: the Mansion’s selection of soothing, in-room spa treatments at surprisingly just prices. Case closed!
