The confluence of land and sea at the pool

After months at sea, Spanish explorers would have loved the spa.

In the 1500s the Santa Ana winds propelled Spanish sails toward the 102 Los Angeles-area acres where Terranea Resort now sits with its courtyards, outdoor firepits and three oceanview pools. The bluff-top topography makes for a challenge on the nine-hole Links at Terranea golf course, but also creates breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. At the end of the day, loosen knots with extra-cozy fireside cocktails accompanied by jazz at The Lobby Bar, Living Room and Terrace, before anchoring down for an expedition into sleep.
