The Chanler was once the “summer cottage” of a wealthy family, but of course the term “cottage" is used loosely here. Presiding over the famous Cliff Walk and featuring commanding views of the sea, The Chanler dazzles with richly appointed rooms, ample amenities such as breakfast and luxury transportation around Newport, and exquisite fine dining at the Spiced Pear. (Most summer cottages don’t come with a Wine Spectator award-winning restaurant. Pity.)
